As the first girl group of Jellyfish Entertainment, Gugudan has made its debut on June 28, 2016.
The group is consisted of 9 members including three ex-members of the girl group I.O.I, Sejeong, Mina as well as Nayong, Mimi, Hana, Heabin, Sally, Soyee, and Heyeyeon.
The group name ‘Gugudan’ means ‘a multiplication table’ in Korean, having a concept that each 9 member with an individual charm give people hope and dream through singing and dancing.

Debut and Success
Gugudan has made its debut on June 28, 2016, releasing its first album “Act.
1 The Little Mermaid” (2016), with 10,000 copies sold in the very short period of time after their debut.
Moreover, their album has achieved the feat of winning the first rank only a week after the release in the MTV music program THE SHOW(2013-present).
Many young people in South Korea come to get interested in how they will show their performance to the public from now on.
Debut in Japan and other area
Jellyfish Entertainment has not announced the plan of Gouda’s debut in other countries yet.
The agency seems to focus on having people in South Korea know the group well first.

Before becoming a member of the group Gugudan, Mimi used to be a trainee at FNC Entertainment to become a pop idol in the South Korean Entertainment world.
In 2013, she appeared in the tvN variety show Cheongdamdong 111(2013), which made a feature of FNC Entertainment entertainers, such as singers, actors and trainees.
She took part in the program as one of the trainees of the agency.

In 2014, she was casted as a performer in the music video of the South Korean duo Leo & Lyn.
Making a figure with her great singing ability, she was supposed to be a member of the girl group A PINK from Plan A Entertainment.
